Hosted by guitarist, singer, and composer, Lucas Brown, the camp will lead students through the ins and outs of the creative process, covering a wide variety of music including Progressive Indie Rock; Pop; Folk-Americana, Garage and more! Students will explore song structure, melody, inspiration, prosody, rhyme, and rhythm. The week long workshop will include opportunities for writing, song feedback, visits and performances by professional songwriters, and a recording session.

Lucas Brown started at the MRC as a member circa 2005 and has now a degree in Music & Music Business from NYU, a foot in the local music scene as leader of the rock band, Breakers, and experience in various facets of the music industry.

To register for and reserve a place in the SONGWRITING CAMP, camp participants MUST fill out the MRC Summer Camp Application Form 2015 as well as pay for their camp ticket.

You do not have to be a Music Resource Center member to participate in the intensive summer camps. Camp participants will be eligible for a 20% discount on an MRC membership.

Please note — the MRC intensive summer camps listed above are not in place of our regular summer workshops, but in addition to them.
