The Portrait of Beauty series addresses how we perceive beauty, what we find beautiful, and the experience of accepting and identifying with society’s image of beauty. It is a statement to the humanity in superficiality. Other key concepts of the series are freedom, h
yper-sexuality, minimalism, and sensationalism.“My work is a commentary on the history and culture of man. The paintings address current and ancient issues of relationship, spirituality, sexuality, beauty, duality, relativism, nature, and dominion. Freedom, entropy, life, death, and time are key concepts of my work. Each piece is intended to open and provoke, drawing attention to different aspects of humanity for analysis and deeper understanding. I use many layers of objective symbols, heavy textures, interpretive colors, language, and formal techniques to make each painting a unique statement. When nothing is sacred and nothing is safe, art is brave.”
