5/17/2021 UPDATE:
As of today, the Music Resource Center is welcoming members on a drop-in basis as well as taking appointments!!! From 2:30-7pm, Monday-Friday, any member is welcome to come without calling or emailing ahead if they’d like. We will be maintaining limits on the number of people per room, masks are required of all members and staff while in the building (regardless of vaccination status), and snacks must be consumed outside. If the facility fills up, members will be asked to limit their time in a room to 2 hours, so that others can have a turn, but if there is nobody waiting for a room, you’re welcome to stay for longer.
Our mask policy remains in effect for everyone, since the majority of our members have only recently become eligible for a COVID vaccine. As vaccination rates among 12-18 year-olds increase, we will readdress this policy. If you have any questions about COVID vaccinations, or would like help getting an appointment for a vaccine, please don’t hesitate to ask!
8/25/20 UPDATE:
Beginning September 8th, we will be open 2:30-7:00 PM by appointment only. Please call 434.979.5478 or email lucas@musicresourcecenter.org to schedule your next visit!

3/13/2020 UPDATE:
Dear MRC Community,
With the recent news that Governor Northam has closed all Virginia K-12 schools for at least the next two weeks, the Music Resource Center will also be closed to members, effective today at 5:00pm. The MRC will remain closed as long as Charlottesville City Schools remain closed.
Stay tuned for updates, via social media and email, on ways we plan to keep members engaged over the upcoming weeks. This will include lessons via video chat as well as ways for members to continue to earn MRC points.
Please stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you all again soon!
Thank you,
MRC Staff

Dear MRC Community,
As the Charlottesville community continues to feel the impact of Coronavirus, we wanted to share with you the steps we, at the Music Resource Center, are taking to keep people safe and healthy.
- Each day before we open to members, staff is wiping down all surfaces with sanitizing wipes.
- We have asked members, parents, volunteers, and staff not to enter the MRC if they:
- have recently traveled by airplane
- have been in an affected community
- have come in contact with anyone infected with COVID-19
- If ANY of the above apply, they will need to wait 14-days from the date of return or exposure to return to MRC in order to ensure they are not sick
- Once they enter the MRC we ask that they:
- use hand sanitizer when they arrive at the MRC OR wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds
- avoid physical contact
- use their own personal water bottle or MRC provided cup for the water fountain
The MRC plans to follow the schools schedule for closing. Since schools are closed Monday March 16th, the MRC will also be closed to members. If the schools reopen on Tuesday, the MRC will also be open.
If/when the schools do close we have a plan in place to keep members engaged. We will share this plan once the time comes.
Sincerely,
Alice Fox
