March 2004: The Dave Matthews Band helped christen the MRC’s new home at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
April 2005: South African anti-apartheid activist and recording legend Vusi Mahlasela came by to hang out with MRC members and perform at a free concert open to the community.
February 2006: GZA/Genius from Wu-Tang Clan and DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill dropped by for a visit and led a discussion about survival in the music industry for MRC members.
July 2006: MRC guitarist Willie Denton-Edmundson was invited to perform on stage with the North Mississippi Allstars during their show at the Charlottesville Pavilion.
October 2006: Music Resource Center members met backstage with master jamband guitarist Trey Anastasio and got a private concert experience during sound check.
February 2009: Ludo “the band you’ve never heard of” played a special 106.1 Corner Lounge concert at MRC, which was also recorded for broadcast on the station. Our CATEC class had a special hand in the audio setup for this performance.
