2010 Battle of the Bands
Posted by: | CommentsThey came, they saw, they destroyed. This years lineup was the deepest talent-wise I’ve seen yet. When it was all said and done, the judges voted Rum Crooks the winners (and recipients of the Fridays After 5 gig) with Nailbiter as the runner up.

Below are some pictures taken by Jack Looney. You can listen to the concert here.
Watershed: The Corner Lounge Pics
Posted by: | CommentsThis past Monday we hosted our second “Corner Lounge” concert event with the South African band Watershed. The band played songs, told stories and answered questions from Brad Savage, 106.1’s star DJ. It was a great, intimate show and everyone had a great time. Cheap Trick @ MRC!
Posted by: | CommentsWhen Cheap Trick came to Charlottesville last month they were in need of a place to rehearse for their upcoming PBS special that they were filming. With visions of checkerboard painted explorers and five neck Hamers dancing in my head, I couldn’t wait to have them here. I mean how often do you get a chance to say “I’m sorry, Cheap Trick is jamming upstairs so I can’t really hear you” to someone on the phone? Here’s a clip that give you an idea of what was going on upstairs for a few days.
Everyone from the band and crew were great people to hang out with and talk to, plus they let me take a pic with the five neck!
